A trial update is a fully functional release of Word Menu that only functions for a set number of days (usually 14). When the time expires, the software becomes unusable. The Trial Version can be converted into a Full Version at any point by entering the serial number and/or running the Register and Check for Updates commands.
The date that the final participant was examined or treated in a clinical study for the purposes of final collection of primary outcome data, regardless of whether the clinical study ended according to the pre-specified protocol. This article debuts a new type of report in JCO, the Clinical Trial Update.
Different clinical trial end points mature at different times; for example, neoadjuvant trials yield pathologic response data years before progression-free survival and overall survival (OS) are available; long-term toxicities are important in curable malignancies with longer natural histories and chronically administered therapies. Clinical Trial Updates offer a rigorous short form for dissemination of these later maturing results that inform care and may be cited as original research.
